H.E.L.P commends OAU MANAGEMENT for suspension of abusive lecturer
HELP FOUNDATION COMMENDS THE MANAGEMENT OF OBAFEMI AWOLOWO UNIVERSITY

We hereby commend the Management Of the Obafemi Awolowo University for the proactive steps they have taken since the release of one Professor Richard Akindele's sex-for-mark scandal.
In the press statement released by the school management, the committee set up for the investigation of the case gave their recommendation which led to the indefinite suspension on the Professor who was found culpable in sexual harassment audio with the victim who was identified to be one Miss Monica Osagie. This is a good development, however, we demand that the lecturer faces the full length of the law.
Furthermore, we believe Professor Akindele's case is just one out of thousands that never see the light of the day and destinies of lots of students get shattered on a daily basis. We hereby call on the Government and relevant regulatory bodies to adapt campus regulatory policies as in developed countries to check the Lecturing Profession and Campus Management in Nigeria.
We also use this medium to express due gratitude to the masses and members of H.E.L.P STUDENTS NETWORK across all tertiary institutions in Nigeria for not keeping silent since the Outbreak and we urge everyone especially the students to continue SPEAKING UP against the CULTURE OF STUDENTS ABUSE IN NIGERIA.
We appreciate the courage and wisdom shown by Miss Monica Osagie and we encourage her to present to the Investigative Committee so that due actions can be further taken in prosecuting the culprit which would also serve as deterrence to other lecturers who undermine the fundamental human rights of Students to fairness, equity and dignity.
YOU CAN BE ASSURED THAT H.E.L.P FOUNDATION WON'T STOP UNTIL SANITY IS RESTORED TO OUR CAMPUSES.
